Weather you take a vacation or make it a staycation this year, the two thing to keep in mind is to make sure it's within your budget and make it fun. When planning your trip or what ever you have in mind make sure you are not adding to your overall debt by doing so. Putting a vacation on a credit cards without having the available fund to pay for it means you'll be paying for that vacation for years to come.
I know you've worked hard and deserve a break, but dropping airfare, hotel and rental a car on the plastic even just for a 2-3 days trip can really set you back.
Maybe the Staycation is for you? Look at how much fun this guy is having just riding a bike.
That is the key to a staycation: make it fun. Don't try and mix the normal everyday routine with your staycation. Meaning don't try and squeeze in a oil change or dentist appointment during your time off. Treat the staycation just as you would if you were away from home. Take day trip, hit the beach, local park, museum, ball park, arcades, etc.
There are plenty of things to do without the big price tags of airline and hotels. Again keep it fun, keep it vacation and your staycation might just be one of the best times you've ever had.
